Christmas display - December

A HUGE thank you to all the gymnasts, coaches, volunteers, friends, family and spectators that supported the Christmas display this afternoon. Big thanks to all that donated raffle prizes, cakes and treats, or helped set up, tidy up after the show, or assisted with the running of the show... we couldn’t have done it without you. We really appreciate all your time and effort. Congratulations gymnasts, some pretty spectacular gymnastics on show!

A fun, festive afternoon for all. We'd like to wish all of our members a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2020!

Dolphina Winter Wonderland invitational - november

Congratulations to our little 2013-2011 girls who have just completed their competition at the Dolphina Winter Wonderland Invitational. For some of the girls this was their first ever competition, and they performed fantastically! ⁣

Novice age 6 - Isla placing 2nd on bars and 1st on beam. Isla also won an award for her height in her jumps on beam. Cece placed 4th on the bars and won a special award for her bravery on beam! Kayley winning the artistry award on beam! ⁣

Level 7 age 6 - Jess placed 1st on vault and floor, and received a trophy for the highest overall score! Jess also won a special prize for her Christmas number!⁣

 

Level 6 age 8 - Soraya placed 4th AA, and 3rd on Bars and Floor. She also recieved a special award for her fantastic themed number, a special award for her cast on bars, her tictoc on beam, and her fantastic artistry on floor! ⁣⁣⁣⁣

Level 6 age 8 - Sophie placed 5th AA, and 2nd on floor. She received a special award for her beautiful artistry on floor! ⁣⁣

Novice age 7/8 ⁣- Skye placed 1st AA, and on Vault, Beam and Floor! She also placed 2nd on the bars. Skye also won a special prize for her fabulous number and an artistry award for her floor routine!

Advanced 11+ category - Ava placed a fantastic 5th on the floor! Alexia was crowned champion on the vault!

Great experience for all the girls, who smiled their way round and learnt lots of lessons. Great job girls!

the notts gymnova open - October

Level 4 - Congratulations to our newly crowned Notts Gymnova Open AA Champion Léyana, scoring a huge 47.6. Léyana also was given an Artistry award for her excellent performance on the Floor, showing great choreography! Léyana placed 1st AA, and on Beam and Floor. She also placed 3rd on both Vault and Bars.

This weekend 6 of our WA squad girls travelled to Nottingham to take part in the Notts Gymnova Open. A very successful weekend for the club, a fantastic experience for both gymnasts and coaches. Big thank you to Notts Gymnastics Academy for being so welcoming, and to all of our coaches and judges for your time and effort over the weekend. Against a big field of competitors, our gymnasts controlled their excitement and nerves and showcased some fantastic performances. 

Level 7 age 6 - Jess became our newly crowned Notts Gymnova Open Level 7 Champion! Jess placed 1st AA and on Bars and Floor. She also placed 2nd on Beam and 3rd on Vault. Jess then went on to win a special award for the baby shark dance competition!
 

Level 6 age 8 - Sophie placed 5th AA, and 1st on floor. Soraya placed 14th AA, and 2nd on floor. A fantastic competition for both gymnasts, gaining experience competing new skills, and earning their first medals! 

Level 5 + age 9/10 - Heidee took the AA title becoming the Notts Gymnova Open Champion for Level 5 + category. Heidee hit many personal bests, including recieving less than 1.0 in deductions on bars, beam and floor! Heidee placed 1st AA, Bars and 3rd on Vault. 

Level 4 age 11 - Darcy started the weekend brilliantly with a clean competition placing 2nd AA. 1st on Vault and 3rd on Bars. 

 

Quatro Cup - October

7 of our WA squad girls travelled to Wiltshire to take part in the Quatro Cup. A fantastic experience, and some results and performances to be very proud of! 

Level 6 - Soraya placed 12th AA, 3rd on Beam, with silver awards on both Beam and Floor. Sophie placed a fantastic 18th AA. 

Level 5 age 10 - Heidee placed 4th AA, 1st on beam and a gold award on beam. 

Level 5 age 11 + - Ellie placed 19th AA, silver award on bars, and bronze award on floor. 

Amy, Darcy and Léyana made up our silver medal winning Level 4 team! All 3 girls placing in the top 6 individually.

Level 4 age 11 + - Amy placed a superb 2nd AA, 2nd with the team, gold awards on Floor and Vault and a silver award on beam.

 

Level 4 age 11 + - Léyana placed 4th AA, 2nd with the team, gold apparatus awards on Vault and Beam, Bronze award on Floor. 

Level 4 age 11 + - Darcy received a special award for her fabulous number! She placed ⁣6th AA, 2nd with the team, gold award on beam and a Silver award on floor.

It's our first birthday! 

Today we celebrated our 1st Birthday! What an amazing treat we received at the gym this morning. A HUGE thank you to @coughlansbakery for their kind gesture. The gymnasts and coaches were so amazed by your work of art! 

Big thank you to all that wished us a Happy Birthday and those that have supported us through our first year! 

summer camp!

A brilliant few days of Summer Camp! Big thanks to all of our wonderful gymnasts and coaches for making the time so enjoyable! We hope all that joined us enjoyed their days and a big well done to our hardest workers of the day/week!

future stars summer spectacular

Congratulations to all 4 girls today who travelled to Colchester to compete in the Future Stars Summer Spectacular Invitational!  For some of these girls, it was their first ever competition. Some brilliant positives to take away from the day, and a great learning experience for all!

 

Jessica (2013) placed 5th AA, 4th on Vault and Bars and 2nd on Floor!

 

Soraya (2011) placed 5th AA, 4th on Vault, 6th on Bars, Beam and Floor!

 

Niamh (2011) placed 7th AA, 6th on Vault, 7th on Beam and 8th on Floor!

 

Skye (2011) placed 11th AA, 8th on Beam and 9th on Floor!

Old Coulsdon Village Fair

We were extremely lucky to be invited to perform at Grange Park, for the Old Coulsdon Village Fair! BIG thanks to all of our wonderful gymnasts, coaches, and parents who took part and assisted, helping today be a fun and smooth running event. Also a huge thank you to the organisers who kindly invited the girls to perform. They very much enjoyed themselves. The theme we chose was Aladdin, the girls loved getting into character!

London spring regionals

A brilliant start to the day, Heidee placed 3rd AA, her first ever AA medal at London regionals. She also placed 1st on beam with a 12.1 and 2nd on vault! Heidee also received apparatus awards on every piece!

 

Ellie placed a fantastic 3rd AA, also placing 1st on floor! Ellie received 2 apparatus certificates. Some brilliant performances shown!

Darcy won her first ever regional AA title, placing 1st overall and on Vault and Bars! Darcy also placed 3rd on Beam and 2nd on floor, receiving 3 apparatus awards! Athena's first regional AA champion!

Amazing finish to a long day. Amy placing 2nd AA, 3rd on vault, and 2nd on beam and floor. Léyana placing 6th overall and 2nd on vault! Amy receiving 4 apparatus awards, Léyana receiving 3 apparatus awards and competing her first somersault on beam.

Special mention to Léyana and Amy who were very impressive yesterday, having to compete at 10pm. They showed great concentration and focus despite the time. And both competed new skills and connections successfully. We are so proud your massive improvements. Keep up the great work girls!

London team championships

Congratulations to our Juniors today who were crowned London Team Champions! Scoring over 3 marks ahead of the rest of the competition! Lots of new skills competed successfully, and some super classy performances shown today. The girls have worked extremely hard in their preparation and we as a club couldn’t be any prouder of their efforts. Shout-out to Ellie who unfortunately was too poorly to compete today, but has worked extremely hard in the build up for this competition. 

easter holiday camp!

A fun filled 3 days of Easter camp! Great to see lots of new faces joining us this week! Well done to all of our gymnasts, and a special mention to all of those that received prizes for 'hardest worker of the day'. 

A reminder that we will be closed Easter Friday- Easter Monday. Happy Easter!

National grades 

Congratulations to both Heidee and Amy who took part in the National Grades held at Heathrow Gymnastics Club this weekend and passed their grades with flying colours despite a few little mistakes. Both have worked extremely hard to be here and we are very proud of them both. Heidee - 8th at National 4. Amy - 6th at National 3. Brilliant effort girls. 

regional grades

This weekend, 4 of our WA gymnasts travelled to Heathrow to take part in Regional grades. Soraya started the weekend fantastically, placing 8th AA, with a distinction at Grade 6 in age, out of a huge filled of 68 gymnasts! A brilliant first ever competition. 

Léyana started our Sunday competition with some excellent performances, resulting in Léyana being crowned overall Regional Grade 2 champion. 

Darcy and Ellie then rounding off the day by placing 4th and 5th at Regional Grade 3 out of 30+ gymnasts. Both girls scored within 0.1 of each other on every single apparatus, showing greta consistency!

future stars pre-grades competition

Ellie was only able to compete on 3 apparatus this weekend due to a small injury, however still managed to place 3rd on Beam and 2nd on Range. Darcy competed alongside Ellie, and although made a few errors, she still managed to place 1st on Range and conditioning!

A brilliant day for the gymnasts and coaches. Lots of new skills competed successfully, lots of lessons learnt. A total of 21 medals achieved by our Athena gymnasts today. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

 

Congratulations girls! 

This weekend kickstarted the competition season for our WA competition girls, who travelled to Colchester to take part in the Future Stars Pre-Grades competition.

 

Jess was crowned Future Stars Challenge AA champion for age 5! With a very special 13.7 score on the vault. A brilliant first ever away competition for Jess. 

Heidee received her first ever AA medal, placing 2nd Overall at National grade 4. She also placed 2nd on Bars, 1st on Beam, 3rd on floor, 2nd on Range!

Amy placed a fantastic 1st AA, 3rd on Vault, 3rd on bars, 1st on Beam and Range. A superb set of results and performances!

Leyana also placed 1st AA, 2nd on vault, 1st on Bars, Beam, Floor and Range. Another fantastic set of results!
