covid-19 temporary closure - November
We have been advised by British Gymnastics and Sport England that all indoor facilities (including Gymnastics clubs) should prepare to close as of Thursday 5th November. We will therefore be closing our doors on Wednesday.
This news is incredibly disappointing. Like many others, we have done everything we can to make our environment as safe as possible, to allow our gymnasts to have a sense of normality and routine again.
We’d like to say a big thank you to all of our coaching team, staff and volunteers for all of your hard work and assistance in our safe return to training and the months of preparation leading up to September. Thank you to all of our members for your patience and compliance with all the new safety measures. And a special mention to all of our gymnasts for coping so well under new measures and for remaining positive and excited to train throughout.
We have received so many kind messages of support, we truly can’t thank you all enough. It’s not goodbye for long, just a ‘see you soon’. Stay focused, stay safe and let’s support one another!

Halloween week!
Just some of the fantastic spooky costumes we’ve seen in the gym this week! We have had so much fun! A week full of lots of gymnastics 'tricks' and plenty of spooky, fun games!

covid-19 Re-opening!
We can’t wait to welcome all our members back into the gym - week commencing Monday 14th September! We have missed you all and can’t wait to get back to our classes! Please ensure you have checked your emails to see our new covid-19 safety procedures and any class/time changes. If you have not yet received an email regarding our return, please contact us via email athenagymnastics@gmail.com

covid-19 update (March)
As of Saturday 21st March, classes will be cancelled until further notice. An email will be sent out to all members explaining this closure. Please be understanding that we have a very small admin team and we are currently working tirelessly to send out emails to all of our members.
Good news!! Over the coming days we will be creating some YouTube videos for our members to watch, and copy at home in order to stay fit and healthy. Send us your pictures and videos of your home workouts. We’d love to see them.
Again, a huge thank you to the team of parents, gymnasts and coaches who volunteered their time yesterday to come in and deep clean the gym. We are so grateful for all your contributions to the club.
Our priority has always been the health and safety of our members and families, and we feel although this is a tough one, this is the correct decision to make at this time. We’d like to thank you all for your continued help and support during this uncertain time. We hope you will continue to stand by us once this time passes. We can’t wait to see you all again soon.

Quatro cup 'Witch of the west' - March
We had 9 of our gymnasts travel to Wiltshire this weekend for their Pre-Grades 'Witch of the West' competition. This was used as a warm up competition ahead of the girls grades in the coming weeks. All 9 girls finished in the top 5 nationally in their respective categories, which was a huge achievement for both the gymnasts, coaches and the club. We are so proud of all of the girls hard work in their preparation for the competition season! What a fantastic start!
Jessica - Pre Grade 6 (Jess competed 1 year early) - 5th AA, Gold award on bars and a silver award on beam!
Niamh - Grade 6 OOA - 1st AA (64.267) Apparatus awards on every piece!
Soraya - Grade 5 IA - 1st AA, 3 Apparatus awards!
Sophie - Grade 5 IA - 2nd AA, 3 Apparatus awards! With just 0.1 between the two gymnasts! Artistry award for Floor!
Heidee - Grade 3 IA - 3rd AA, Bronze apparatus awards on beam and bars!
Leyana - National grade 3 - 2nd AA, Gold Apparatus awards on Bars and Vault!
Amy - National grade 2 - 4th AA, 1 Gold award on Range, 3 Silver Apparatus awards!
Darcy - Grade 2 - 5th AA, Gold Apparatus award on Bars (13.350) and a Bronze award on Vault!
Ellie - Grade 2 - 3rd AA, Apparatus awards on Range and Bars!
